Özge Kocabayoğlu has been a student of the Yoga tradition since 2000 and an instructor since 2004. When she first started practicing in the town of Narragansett, Rhode Island (USA), her motivation was curiosity. In a short time, Yoga became her life style and brought an increased awareness of body and mind. She realized that Yoga practice starts when you wake up and lasts throughout the day.
While working with Richard Toohey (2000-2004) at the Yoga School of South County, Rhode Island, she learned the true value of sensitivity and correct posture day after day. She started experiencing integration despite the fragmented nature of modern life. During this period she also completed Tias Little’s teacher training course in Santa Fe, New Mexico and continues to study with him regulary.
Since 2004, she is training mainly with Godfrey Devereux, founder of Dynamic Yoga. She has done numerous workshops in the past eight years with various teachers in the USA, Europe, Australia and Turkey. Her admiration and curiosity of the human body has also led her to the practice of body work, she is also a student and practitioner of Ayurvedic Yoga Massage since 2006. In 2007 she has completed a multi discipline bodywork training with Tatjana Rottenberg. She continues her inquiry in different styles of bodywork like Deep Tissue Massage and Feldenkrais Technique.
Her passion for traveling stems mostly from the ability it gives the traveler to see home with fresh eyes. In the past year she spent 8 months in Byron Bay (Australia), the home of natural remedies and organic life style. She grew her own vegetables and witnessed the magical journey from seed to fruit every day, every week. During this time she started training in the Australian Bush Flower Essences (ABFE) system. ABFE makes use of the vibrational qualities of native Australian flowers and are highly effective in balancing emotional and spiritual instabilities and disturbances. She continues studying the flowers and preparing essences for herself and loved ones.
